CONVERSATING ABOUT WHAT'S ON YOUR MIND!
By Gabriel I. Pittman
For anyone still wondering about what happened to President Obama during the first presidential debate, the answer may have been revealed on election night. Two states, Washington and Colorado (the stat which hosted the infamous debate), voted to legalize the recreational use of marijuana. Former vice-president Al Gore, in a statement as ludicrous as the one he made about inventing the internet, opined that the President’s lethargic performance was possibly due to the altitude. But now it appears that the President’s performance could have been explained more rationally by the possibility of another type of Rocky Mountain high. Given his admitted indulgence in the “healing of the nations” (and unlike President Clinton, he did inhale), his performance at that debate could definitely lend credence to a conspiracy theory that he was the first person to test the constitutional muster of the new law.
But on a serious note, the real debate of whether to legalize marijuana nationwide has now begun. The pundits have already aligned in the factions supporting and negating such legalization. Aspects of economical, social/criminal, and physical/health effects are sure to be hotly contested. So as the debate begins, consider this simple fact–America has long been UNDER THE INFLUENCE:
“Smoke this GRASS y’all! Let’s get high! Oh my, oh my, oh my! Take a toke of this lie! Red elephants and blue donkeys fly wingless through the sky and the people puff on and on and on. They puff on mass media that manipulates information into miscommunication, minimizing the resistance of the people who wish to kick the trip they’re taking on wingless, thinkless red elephants and blue donkeys.
“Re elephants and blue donkeys singing anthems of, “God bless America, land that lo-o-ove’ promising to lead the people to a euphoric utopia of heavenly paradise while at the same time creating an earthly purgatory. No longer in G-O-D should the people trust. Faith in M-16’s and ICBM’s is a must. Fire and brimstone rains down, rains down on the people intoxicating their senses leaving them inebriated, drowned and diminished by a force greater than the rushing waters of tsunamis over broken levees. Their eyes are bloodshot, their eyelids are heavy from a double shot burning hotter than Twin Towers falling down, falling down. it’s the straight 911 proof elixir of fear pumped into the people’s veins through the syringe of illegal immigration, national security and regime change.
“Ahhh, it’s so addictive! Even when the system of the people, by the people, for the people is proven to be broke, every two, four and six years the people relapse, fiending for another hit of salvation from wingless, thinkless red elephants and blue donkeys who disrupted and corrupted Government, Religion And Social Security. Smoke this GRAS y’all! Let’s get high! Oh my, oh my, oh my! Take a toke of this lie!
